Who is behind this site
tromso-fishing.com is run by Patrick Kühne, an independent travel publisher based in Markkleeberg near Leipzig, Germany. He builds and maintains a small portfolio of guides to attraction tickets and day tours. There is no agency and no rotating editorial team behind this site: the pages are researched, written and kept up to date by one person, the same one who answers the e-mails.
What this site does
A fishing trip from Tromsø can mean a fjord cruise boat with soup for lunch, a wooden boat from 1917 where the rods go round in turns, a private boat that sends you home with export papers, a crab boat where you help haul the pots, or a hole in the ice of a frozen lake. We describe what separates them: the boat and the group, how many rods there are, what happens to the fish and where the trip starts. We are not a booking agent; every reservation happens on the booking platform.
How we earn money
When you book through one of our links, the platform pays us a commission. Your price stays the same: the commission comes out of the platform’s margin, not your pocket. No contract obliges us to favour a particular operator, and our comparisons are ordered by number of reviews, not by what pays us best.
Where our data comes from
Prices, ratings and review counts are pulled from our booking partners’ systems and refreshed automatically several times a day. Boats, group sizes, inclusions and what happens to the catch come from the operators’ product pages, last checked on 22 October 2026. The fishing rules come from the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries and Norwegian Customs. Found something out of date? Write to us and we will correct it.
What we are not
We do not run any trips and we are not affiliated with any operator mentioned on this site. They run the boats; we describe them. No one can promise a catch, the operators included. For binding information on cancellations, weather changes and pickup times, the operator’s own channels always take precedence.
